Knox Chinese Ministry

The Chinese Ministry of Knox United Church aims to provide service to new immigrants and to share Christianity with them. We will uphold the faith of sharing the love of God, continuing our service in the changing Agincourt community, with the vision that we reach more new immigrants, making them feel welcome and wanted.

Sunday Church School

Matthew 19:14 - Jesus, however, said, "Let the little children come to me, and stop keeping them away, because the kingdom from heaven belongs to people like these." International Standard Version.
Each Sunday morning the Church school is the host for the young in the Nursery and for ages 5 and up in a curriculum based on the "One Room Sunday School".

Pastoral Care and Visitation

We all have our ups and downs in life. The Pastoral Care Team strive to continue the work as a caring community, supporting with best of our abilities, as we go through pain, loss, anxiety, triumphs, joys and victories. The well being of our community is our concern - Keep us Informed. We would like know if you are Hospital or home-bound, celebrating a milestone or even a new born. Let us know how we can help.

Music and Choirs

Music has been an important part of the ministry of Knox since the church began. In the 1898 history of the church, it was noted that “In few churches is the Congregational singing so hearty as in Knox Church.”  This was before a pump organ was installed in 1893 and the Casavant organ in 1928.  The Casavant organ has been enhanced over the years and there is also a grand piano in the sanctuary.

Outreach Mission and Community

The Knox Outreach program can be categorized into Local Community programs and Global Mission support.

The local community support programs consist of core supported groups and partnerships with agencies including;

The Agincourt Community Services Association (ACSA), Out of the Cold Program, Habitat for Humanity, Nearly New Shop, Special Projects and Events, Benevolent Fund Program.

Our Global outreach is centrally coordinated and managed through the United Church of Canada (Church House) head office under the Mission and Service Fund.

United Church Women

The purpose of the UCW is to unite all the women of the church in the task of outreach and local assistance, and to provide a medium through which they may express their loyalty and devotion to Jesus Christ in Christian witness study, fellowship and service.

The United Church Women (UCW) at Knox United Church consists of 2 units.

Unit #1 meets monthly on the first Tuesday night

Unit #2 meets monthly on the first Wednesday morning.

Monthly meetings are held in a friendly atmosphere, opening up opportunities for working together and forming the basis of genuine fellowship among the women of the Knox congregation.

Each meeting begins with a short service and may include a guest speaker, slide show, book discussion etc.  All are welcome.
