Property Committee

 

Purpose: The Property Committee will be responsible for the use and maintenance of Church property, furnishings and equipment

 Membership:  As required

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Establish policy and oversee the space allocation of Church buildings by various groups;
  • Supervise the work of the Church custodian and any other contracted services;
  • Establish a group of volunteers to assist in maintenance and repair;
  • Oversee the operation of the sound system recording , the recruitment of volunteers for this duty and sound system training of the volunteers;
  • Arrange insurance coverage of Church buildings and property in consultation with the Board of Trustees;
  • Prepare short-term and long-term capital expenditure and maintenance budget for the Finance and Administration Committee;
  • Appoint an archivist to maintain records and arrange proper storage of Church archives as well as the transfer of appropriate material to United Church Archives;
  • Liaise with the Board of Trustees and the Cemetery Board.
