Children's Ministry and Church School
Children and Youth have a special place at Knox. Children attend the first portion of the worship service with their parents and following ‘The Moment of Discovery’, they attend their Church School program.
Nursery: Infant and Toddler care
There is a supervised Nursery program providing loving care for little ones and introduces them to Jesus through Bible stories.
Children K-5 up to High school
Children in grades K-5 enjoy creative Bible lessons, skits, videos, story-telling, and high energy music in a large group setting and then dismiss to small groups where they learn real life application of the lessons. Bible stories, memory verses and music fill our preschooler lessons, as young children begin to develop a foundation for their relationship with Jesus.
Special Events and Activities
Activities for children and families is not just on Sundays.
There are several planned events, including;
- a “kick-off” Faminy picnic in September
- an Advent celebration
- a family Christmas Eve service
- family bowling and party participation in other congregational events such as the Fall Fair, pancake supper and June BBQ.
Each Sunday, highlighted by White Gift Sunday, the children are reminded of the need to care for others with gifts of food for the Food Bank at Agincourt Community Services Association (ACSA). In this way they are learning to experience the Bible verse adopted from previous year’s theme:
“We love… because He first loved us”. 1 John 4:19.
Jayne Bossert, Coordinator of Christian Education, plans and communicates details about upcoming events to parents and guardians.
